Annie Tutor Profile

Hello everyone! こんにちは 

My name is Anshika, but you can call me Annie. I have been an English tutor for five years, teaching students from different countries and backgrounds. As a teacher, I aim to help you achieve your dreams of learning English innovatively. Whether you are afraid of speaking English or just need to improve your skills or IELTS band, I would be happy to support you in your learning journey. :)

Education

I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), along with TEFL and TESOL certifications from Oxford and London Teacher Training College. I have also worked as an IELTS trainer, which has given me the skills to help students prepare for exams effectively.


Teaching experience 

I bring a diverse teaching experience, having worked with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds, including Arabic, Indian, and Japanese learners. My professional journey includes roles at the Ministry of Education in the UAE and Hertford College, Oxford, where as an ESL Instructor I honed my skills and approaches to learning. The Japanese learners in my class who came on an exchange program to Oxford improved their reading skills and ended up with a band of 7.0 and above in IELTS. 


What to expect in my lesson? 

My teaching approach does not rely on rote learning but focuses on innovatively implementing techniques for faster reading and effective speaking. I tailor my methodologies to meet the unique needs of each learner, whether it’s a toddler beginning to learn the language or an adult aiming to improve their skills for professional growth. I believe that every person has a different learning ability, and not every pedagogy works for everyone. By adapting my strategies to suit individual needs, I ensure that learning is both meaningful and impactful.

Learning a new language can be challenging, but with our sincere efforts and the right support, we can overcome them! Whether you want to improve your IELTS score (listening, speaking, and writing) pronunciation, writing, or reading skills, I’m here to support you on your journey.  Let’s work together to reach your goals! My aim is to build not just competency but also boost the confidence that lies within you. 

This is where I come from 

I live in the beautiful mountains in California, we usually see a lot of snow around. I am blessed to be in the lap of nature with pine trees, waterfalls, and ice-capped mountains.
