Hello! My name is Richard Gray and I'm from England. I have been an English teacher since 2001, with over 20 years teaching experience in England, Thailand and Malaysia.
I have a Cert TESOL teaching qualification and an MA in English and Related Literature and a BA in English.
Now, I have returned to live in Thailand with my wife. We have been together for 20 years.
I have taught English from beginner to advanced level and from kindergarten age to adults. I have worked as an English teacher in Primary and Secondary schools, an International school and in universities. I worked as a teacher trainer for 3 years and I recently worked as an English consultant at a hospital. During my time in teaching, I have written articles and blogs and worked as an editor and proofreader. It's been quite a journey!
I have found that engaging student centred learning in a fun and friendly atmosphere is the best way to learn anything and I always try to achieve this in my lessons. One of the great things I think about this work is you get to meet many different people and hopefully make a difference in their lives.

When I worked as an English teacher at a Thai university, I had the chance to teach a group of visiting 'Bunkyo' Japanese students for 3 months. It was a good and enjoyable experience and I am happy to have the opportunity to teach Japanese students again here on Cafetalk!
