Hi there!

I'm Vaida and I'm from Lithuania - a tiny country in Europe. Despite the fact that it's tiny, I'm aware of the fact that the world is huge and absolutely worth discovering. That's one of the main reasons why I love English and communicating to foreign people!
Since I've got a degree in Educational Psychology, I'm also interested in how teaching works, what could be the best methods for it and I'm so glad that I can apply both my knowledge in English and my knowledge in Educational Psychology while teaching. Furthermore, I enjoy it so much and communicating to people, in my opinion, is the key point of teaching and learning English.
How else could you learn a language if not by being honest, open, brave, talkative, and not being scared to make mistakes? That's how learning works!

How did I become an English teacher?

Once upon a time, my friend's friend was working some kind of an online job. Back then, I was looking for a job and was adviced to try an apply to become an English teacher online since my friend knew I loved English and had enough experience to start doing that. It didn't take long and I was already talking to my students on Skype - it was definitely of the most exciting and interesting decisions that I had made in a while!
And here we go, now I'm on Cafetalk, offering my lessons to you and looking forward to meeting you soon!

Credentials:

- Almost 2 years of experience in teaching English, mostly to Japanese people
- A few years of experience in Academic writing/ reading in English
- C2 Academic English level gained at the university
- Master's degree in Educational Psychology
- I used to be a member of International Committee of my studies program at the university
-  Communicating in English to my foreign friends on a daily basis, even when I'm not teaching
- I used to be a mentor of Erasmus students at the university
- Erasmus practice in a foreign country

Teaching style:

- I believe that the best way to learn English is SPEAKING!
- I can apply the idea of "speaking is the best way to learn English" to every single lesson, whether it's reading, listening or just a discussion
- I listen carefully but am also ready to discuss about anything you would like to discuss! Ask me questions and I will be really happy to asnwer them!
- I give an active feedback during the lesson, correct your mistakes during the lesson (of course, if you would like me to)!
- An honest and open conversation, I believe, is always one of the best ways to learn English and can be applied to any kind of lesson. Motivation and dedication are all that matters!
- I am interested to hear what you needs are and apply them to our next lesson! Just let me know how you would like to study English and we can definitely make that work!

Interests:

- Psychology - as I've been studying it for a few years, it has become a part of my life. I love reading psychology related books (Yalom was one of the first authors that got me into that years ago) the most!
- Traveling - unfortunately, I haven't been to Asia yet. YET! It's one of my biggest dreams to visit Asian countries therefore I love communicating with Japanese people and get to know their culture!
- Movies - I'm an absolute fan of those. Dramas, comedies, thrillers, oh just give me any movie (IMDB point higher than 7 please). I would like to chat about Japanese movies with you and hear your opinion about the best ones; any recommendations?
- Reading - I admit I haven't been paying enough attention to this hobby of mine recently. This rushing world doesn't usually provide me with an opportunity to sit down and read a book calmly. Although I find time for it sometimes and am able to relax while reading; educational/ informational/ psychological books are my favourites but I would be glad to hear more about some best fiction books as well!
- Writing - it's been one of my greatest hobbies since I was a child. All kind of writing contests at school, then writing millions of thesis at the university, ohhh how much I love it. And, of course, I've found myself enjoying writing in English a lot! Don't hesitate to ask me for an advice if you need one!
- Scientific/ academic stuff - it all just comes together: writing, reading, psychology. Research, analyzing, lecturing have been my favourites during the last few years. I've also been enjoying the process of self-realization while teaching English to Japanese students a lot since it is a mentally challenging activity and also gives me such a great opportunity to get to know so many interesting people!
- Seriously, I can find interesting details in any kind of topic! Just let me know what you are interested in and we can definitely chat about it!

Have a great day and I hope to meet you in my lesson very very soon!
