Hello everyone! My name is Cameron. I currently live in San Francisco, CA in the United States. Honestly, I like to think of myself as a citizen of the world.

Did you know?

An hour of conversation in English is equivalent to 10 hours of studying by yourself and as good as 5 hours in a classroom.

It is for these reasons that I feel conversation, reading, and learning common vocabulary are essential to mastering a new language. 

My lessons are based around 

  1. I love sci-fi, fantasy, and Japanese animation. I usually will start with a bit of reading practice where we go over a short story together. 

  1. Common vocabulary! There are 4000 words added to the English language per year. That’s scary! However, learning common words will help you achieve. 

  1. Depending on your goal, we can create lesson plans that are formulated for your goal (i.e. exam, conversational, hobby, etc)

A little bit about me. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to places where I’ve had to study another language. The process can be long and difficult but the reward is worthwhile. Meeting students, travelers, and penpals over time has given me the understanding that humans should embrace our unique differences. 

For my teaching style, I find mixing my interest in telling stories and teaching English to be a fun tool when learning a new language. For example, a lesson start with a story:

Sally floated in the space station as the electrical equipment slowly began to malfunction. The lights and sounds of the space station whirled into a deafening silence. 

From this story, we will dissect aspects about the story into grammar, reading, conversation, and spelling/vocabulary. 

If you are a fan of sci-fi/fantasy/comic culture, I think we would have some fun learning English and exchanging cultures.
