My name is Beverley-Anne, but I am known as Bev. I have two adult children, and live on the East Coast of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. I have a TEFL certificate, a degree in Psychological Counselling, a certificate in HIV/AIDS Counselling and a diploma in Interior Design.
My hobbies include reading, painting, knitting , interior decorating, gardening, photography and running. My interests include travel, learning about other cultures, environmental factors, animals, health, art and learning.
I worked for a Japanese company in South Africa previously, and got to learn a bit about the Japanese culture and language. Further along in my career I was responsible for staff training in our region (KwaZulu Natal) and designed and presented the training material to around 75 different people at all the branches.
I enjoy interacting with with people, and am an excellent communicator. My teaching style is informal and friendly, and my lessons are interesting and fun. People learn best when they are relaxed so I engage them in conversation around the topic being taught. Understanding the material is crucial to any lesson, and I check on the student's level of understanding throughout. I believe that honest motivation is a good confidence builder, and helps the student to remember the material being taught.
My mantra is “Everyone should learn something new every day.”
I hope my profile is of interest to you, and you select me to tutor you.
