Hello!
It is nice to meet you, my name is Josiah and I am from Canada! I would love to get to know you and be part of your journey to learning English!
- Some background about me -
I had the opportunity to go to Japan to learn as part of a study abroad program while I was in university, and I have been very interested in the culture and language. I have been studying Japanese, and know how challenging it is to learn a foreign language, so don't worry, we are all in this together!
I love to travel and explore; our world is so diverse with many distinct cultures, so I am very interested in learning about life where you are from! Some of my other interests are photography, cooking, and most importantly, eating.
- Education -
Bachelor's of Commerce with a Specialization in Finance
TEFL Certification (120-hour)
*Working towards specialization in teaching Young Learners as well as Business English
Due to certain current events, my plans have been postponed, but in the near future, I will be living and working in Japan as an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) and teaching Japanese school children!
- What you will learn with me -
I may or may not be able to teach you the meaning of life, but I can help you with your English!
While in university, I was part of a Japanese conversation club and tutored foreign exchange students, especially with proof-reading and vocabulary.
Students of all levels are welcome to join me:
We can only learn when we are comfortable, so let us get to know each other!
Friends know me as a patient and flexible person, so feel free to ask about any sort of lesson, and I will try my best to be what you are looking for!
We can go through a variety of activities! Whether it is free-talk to practice conversation and pronunciation through speaking and listening about different topics, discussions about current events, or through a more structured learning journey.
For students working through textbooks and writing papers, I can offer lessons on different topics or specific English grammar points, as well as supplemental lessons and proof-reading.
