Hello. My name is Heather and I love yoga, making art, reading, and learning new things. I think the key to a happy life is curiosity and feeding that curiosity with new knowledge. I would love to help you on your journey to learning something new. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in art history. I have been teaching English for about twelve years to students of all ages, although I most enjoy working with kindergarten and early elementary aged kids. I have been teaching yoga off and on for a couple of years and participated in the Cosmic Kids and Kido Kids Yoga teacher training.  I have been trained to teach phonics through the Jolly Phonics method and use it when I am teaching students to read. I enjoy using movement, as well as arts and crafts to teach English in a fun way. Seeing the progress in my students makes my job very rewarding.  
 
I am pretty fluent in Japanese and have recently been studying Spanish, so I know what it is like learning a new language. I am planning on offering English, yoga, and possibly art classes through Cafetalk. If you are studying English, I hope you can use your English to take one of my classes in English so that you can use what you have learned in a practical situation. I look forward to a classes with you!
