- students who want more focused help with math concepts or questions in the English language
Many people feel like math is hard, or they are "not good at math." Math can be really scary, but the good news is this: YOU can learn math! This lesson is designed to help you develop skills where you need extra help.
This course is designed for anyone who wants more practice in English-speaking math in a specific area such as:
- basic operations (multiplication, division, adding, subtracting)
- fractions
- decimals
- pre-algebra
- order of operations
- percents and ratios
- exponents
- algebra
- math using US currency
- becoming more familiar with math terms in English
I took math up through pre-calculus in University, but I never really felt like I understood math until I started teaching it. Only when I began practicing skills with children did I really feel like I "got" it.
These lessons are in English, but the good news is: numbers are used in every language! What a bonus to practice English skills AND get better at math!! Some students prefer a more casual lesson and discussion of math in English. This lesson is tailored to suit YOUR needs.
