For this lesson, I currently offer several different books:
FICTION:
Level 1(simplest): "Warriors - Firestar's Quest", "Asylum", "A Series of Unfortunate Events", "A Wrinkle in Time", "The Neverending Story", "Dealing with Dragons", "The Great Shelby Holmes",
Level 2: "The Hunger Games", "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", "The Gender Game", "Ready Player One", "Beautiful Creatures", "City of Bones", "Clockwork Angel"
Level 3 (most difficult): "The Husband's Secret" (Student must be 18 or older), "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "Three Fates", "1984", "Animal Farm", "Catcher in the Rye", "Lord of the Flies", "Moby Dick", "Of Mice and Men", "Lord of the Rings", "Sherlock Holmes", "Walden", "Norwegian Wood" (Student must be 18 or older), "A Midsummer Night’s Dream"
NONFICTION:
Level 1 (simplest): "Happiness Now", "Follow your Heart", "How Life Works", "Go! Stock! Go!", "Being Happy!"
Level 2: "Who Moved My Cheese?", "Minimalism", "The Power of Habit", "Feel the Fear and do it Anyway", Total Money Makeover", "Get Out of Your Mind & Into Your Life", "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff", "Your Money or Your Life", "Rework", "Never Binge Again"
Level 3 (most difficult): "The 5 Love Languages" (Student must be 18 or older), "How to Win Friends and Influence People", "7 Habits of Highly Affective People", "Men are from Mars & Women are from Venus", "Rich Dad Poor Dad", "The Millionaire Next Door", "The Wolf of Wallstreet" (Student must be 18 or older), "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***" (Student must be 18 or older), "Sapiens", "Homo Deus", "The Selfish Gene"
If you'd rather read a different book, please send me a message what book you'd rather read so that I can prepare ahead of time.
In this lesson, we will read by sentence or paragraph out loud.
I will read first, then you will repeat the same sentence or paragraph out loud (eventually, you will read by paragraph on your own).
While you are reading, I will correct anything you mispronounce and also take notes of any trouble words or sounds you have to send to you after the lesson.
After reading the sentence or paragraph, we will go over each word and sentence that you need help understanding and any questions you have (vocabulary, pronunciation, any questions at all).
If you do not have the book, I can send it to you or I can share my screen during our lesson.
