Starting from daily conversation, we covered the amicable style of English communication in specific settings. She provided me with a multitude of aspects on how it was like to live in Japan for years as a "foreigner". For a person who has never stayed outside Japan for long, everything she told me was a breath of fresh air and enlightened me on how challenging it would be to familiarize ourselves into different cultures. Her story was all the more insightful because of her great command of the Japanese language and affluent knowledge of our nationality. I would definitely love to delve into the topic if she likes to in the next lesson. close

We enjoyed covering various topics, including our everyday life, current events, and some societal issues in Japan in the U.S. For students who rarely have a chance to visit the States, I was thrilled to learn differences in the behavior of citizens and how they react to the same policy solutions between both countries. During the lesson, she gently but accurately pointed out some errors Japanese students tend to make, owing to her high proficiency in the Japanese language. This makes us easier to understand the tips of correct English explanation. I highly recommend her lessons to students at all levels, especially those who wish to see Japan from the eyes of the American tutor, who is well-educated with an advanced level of Japanese skills. close
