In this lesson we’ll practice the format of the EIKEN test or the TOEIC test, please let me know which one you are studying for.

During the EIKEN test, a student is expected to describe pictures, answer comprehension questions, and express their opinion.

During the TOEIC test, a student is expected to know official style language, and be able to answer complicated reading comprehension questions.

For a student who has no experience with the test, we’ll practice simple examples of each part of the test. Then in later lessons we’ll work towards getting used to the format of the test, while I correct mistakes and give guidance about what the test will expect from you. Right before the date of the test, it will be more of a rehearsal just as the test experience will be.

A student who knows what to expect on testing day will feel more comfortable and give a more accurate expression of their English ability. This is why we focus on getting used to the format of the test.
