Learning outcomes focus on functional English for tour guides or guide volunteers.
The English for Tour Guides class is specifically designed for individuals aspiring to work as tour guides.
This class can be taken as a series of classes, that may be customised to each tour you will be undertaking.
The class aims to cover the following areas:
- Improve Listening and Speaking Skills: Develop the ability to understand and communicate clearly with tourists from various English-speaking countries.
- Expand Vocabulary for Tourism: Acquire essential vocabulary related to landmarks, cultural sites, history, and logistics.
- Master Customer Service Communication: Learn how to handle inquiries, give instructions, and provide excellent customer service in English.
- Practice Descriptive Language: Enhance skills in describing historical and cultural sites vividly and accurately.
- Handle Unexpected Situations: Gain confidence in managing complaints, emergencies, or other unexpected situations with tourists in English.
- Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity: Understand how to communicate respectfully and effectively with tourists from diverse cultural backgrounds.
The course focuses on developing fluency in conversational English, mastering specialized tour guide vocabulary, and understanding culture and history to provide engaging and informative tours.
