We had a great conversation today about life. 주연 선생님 always creates such a warm, cozy atmosphere that allows me to feel comfortable sharing about things that are happening to me right now. As I'm sharing it all in Korean, there's also that added fear of making mistakes and sounding awkward. However, because of 주연 선생님's kindness, I'm certainly not afraid of sounding weird and I always feel supported to talk as much as I can within my capabilities. Words are coming out much smoother now than last year, and I can see on Skype that 주연 선생님's corrections are getting fewer and fewer. I'm already looking forward to the next class!

I got so busy after starting a new job and I wasn't able to take 주연 선생님's classes for almost a month!! It was soooo nice to finally see her again today! As always, we discussed a variety of topics. It feels great to be able to talk about what happened recently in my life to 주연 선생님 in Korean. 주연 선생님 always creates a cozy and friendly atmosphere from the moment she starts the class, allowing me to feel comfortable talking as much as I can in Korean and making mistakes without feeling bad. My Korean speaking skills have improved so much because of 주연 선생님. I'm already looking forward to the next class~~~

As always, it was a great lesson with 주연 선생님. I've been struggling with something personally and I ended up talking about that today. 주연 선생님 listened attentively and I was very grateful to not only be able to vent but do so in Korean. 주연 선생님 also shared what she did when she went through something similar, and I felt comforted by what she shared. All in all, I got to improve my Korean speaking skills and also felt better about my situation! What a great combo ^^ Looking forward to future lessons with 주연 선생님!

Time absolutely flew by today! 주연 선생님 taught me the word 빈부격차 and we talked about the wealth disparity that 주연 선생님 observed in places she visited, and I also shared about what I saw. This topic is something I had never talked about before in Korean so I stuttered a lot and spoke slowly because I had to think of the right words to use, but 주연 선생님 was very kind and patient as always. I'm thankful that I get to talk about various topics with 주연 선생님. She has a wealth of experience so she shares stories that make our conversation even more interesting. I feel like I learn more than just Korean when I take her classes. Looking forward to many more classes in the future ^^

Another great class with 주연 선생님! We talked about many things and I had the opportunity to use some of the vocabulary I learned from self-studying but never used before. Talking with 주연 선생님 is always fun because she listens attentively and responds with a smile, even when I struggle to find the correct word to use or when I speak very slowly. 주연 선생님 is also open to talking about a variety of topics, so every class introduces me to new vocabulary and solidifies the vocabulary I already know because I'm using the words in context. I've already booked the next class and I'm looking forward to it!

주연 선생님's patience continues to amaze me. I speak slowly because I need time to process what word I want to use next in my sentences, yet 주연 선생님 patiently waits with a smile until I finish the sentence before offering me corrections or suggestions. I appreciate that 주연 선생님 doesn't jump in mid-sentence to help even though I know she knows what I want to say, because I get to use my brain to its full capacity to express my thoughts using words I know and I get to form a habit of thinking on my own first before relying on 주연 선생님 to help finish my sentence. I believe this is one of the biggest reasons why my Korean has improved since I first started taking classes with 주연 선생님 8 months ago. I look forward to continue learning Korean in 2024 with 주연 선생님~~~

Today was the last class of 2023. As always, we had a great conversation about various things. We talked about how we spent our Christmas, how this year went and what our plans are for 2024. We're both trying something new in 2024, so being able to share my excitement and worries with 주연 선생님 felt amazing. Also, the fact that we talked about it almost entirely in Korean made me reflect on how much my Korean skills have grown this year. I truly couldn't have done it without 주연 선생님. She lets me think as long as I need before offering a suggestion or correction so I can practice conveying my thoughts in Korean using words I know. Her patience always amazes me! I look forward to continuing to improve my Korean speaking skills in 2024 with 주연 선생님 ^^

Today we talked about many things and it was very fun as always!! I've always wanted to be able to talk about any topic in Korean without worrying I wouldn't be able to contribute to the conversation or comprehend what the other person says. Since we talk about so many things in 주연 선생님's class, I feel more comfortable talking in Korean and my speaking skills have certainly improved. I feel like my confidence has grown too! Moreover, 주연 선생님 speaks English proficiently so if I get stuck, I can always ask 주연 선생님 in English. I look forward to next week's class :)

Conversations with 주연 선생님 are always fun. I've been taking classes with 주연 선생님 regularly since April and we still have many things to talk about :D 주연 선생님 gently corrects my sentences whenever I make mistakes. If I struggle to form a sentence, she patiently waits until I come up with something using words I know. Then she makes sure to acknowledge my efforts before she offers the right words to say what I want to say. Since I've taken many classes with 주연 선생님, she notices when I attempt to use new words and she acknowledges that too! I appreciate the kindness I receive in each class ^^

Our conversation today was super fun! 주연 선생님 and I share many things in common, so talking about personal experiences with 주연 선생님 is extra fun because she has had similar experiences in the past. Also, as someone interested in both Korean and Japanese culture, it's very interesting to hear 주연 선생님's stories because she lives in Japan. I was also able to chat about language learning with 주연 선생님 today. Because 주연 선생님 has learned both Japanese and English, we chatted about what worked and what helped us improve our language skills. Recently I keep confusing 에 and 에서, but 주연 선생님 is so patient with me even though I keep making the same mistakes. I appreciate her patience so much!! I look forward to continuing to improve my Korean speaking skills with 주연 선생님~~~

Today I asked 주연 선생님 to teach me more about numbers because it's so confusing to me. I came up with random big numbers and wrote them down on Skype so that I could practice saying those numbers out loud in Korean. 주연 선생님 patiently waited for me to come up with the answer. When I got it wrong, she corrected me with a smile. It also helps that 주연 선생님 speaks English well so I could tell her the number in English and she could tell me what it was in Korean. We then freely talked about other topics and it was fun as always! ^^

A 20-minute class feels short now since I have so many things I want to talk about with 주연 선생님, but at the beginning it was the perfect class to take to get comfortable speaking in Korean! 주연 선생님 has a warm personality that makes it easy to practice talking without worrying about making mistakes. Also, 주연 선생님 is open to talking about a variety of topics, so I get to use the vocabulary and grammar patterns I learned through self-study. I had so much fun taking 주연 선생님’s 20-minute classes that I even took 2 classes in a row sometimes ^^

Today we had a very fun discussion about our future goals and things we want to try. I also shared some exciting news with 주연 선생님 and I appreciated that she enthusiastically responded to it. I love that I can talk about recent personal events in Korean with 주연 선생님. Taking a class with 주연 선생님 always gives me the feeling of "I can actually converse in Korean!" I feel comfortable talking lots and making mistakes because of the warm and friendly atmosphere 주연 선생님 creates in her classes. Because we meet regularly, we talk about various things each time, so I can't help but use vocabulary I don't use often. 주연 선생님 always patiently waits as I think of the correct word to use. I would definitely recommend 주연 선생님's classes to people like me who want to improve their Korean speaking skills!

We had another fun conversation today (as always) ^^ 주연 선생님 is always kind and encouraging whenever I struggle to form a sentence. Since Korean sentence structure is different from English, sometimes it takes me a minute to rearrange the sentence in my head (and a minute pause feels longer in a conversation! ^^;). I speak slowly and stumble on my words but 주연 선생님's warm personality gives me the courage to just talk and get better through making mistakes. With 주연 선생님's thorough post-class feedback, I can properly review everything I learned. I'm excited to continue taking classes with 주연 선생님~~

I took 주연 선생님’s 40-minute class to transition from taking 20-minute classes to her 50-minute one. 주연 선생님 speaks English well so if I get stuck, I can say what I want to say in English. 주연 선생님 will include these words in her very detailed post-class feedback (in addition to allllll the other words and expressions I learn that day). It’s very helpful during review to make sure I remember how to say that word the next time I happen to think of it again!

At first I didn’t think I’d be able to talk in Korean for 50 minutes, but after taking 주연 선생님‘s 20-minute classes, I started feeling like it wasn’t enough! 주연 선생님 creates a warm and friendly atmosphere in her classes so I feel safe to talk a lot, even if I end up making a bunch of mistakes ^^ I can now clearly sense an improvement in my speaking skills since I first started taking 주연 선생님’s classes in April. Also, 주연 선생님 responds warmly to any topic I bring up, making the class even more fun since I can talk about many different topics! I will continue taking 주연 선생님’s classes since I want to eventually be able to talk about any topic in Korean with confidence.

This is a class where I get to learn new words and expression before, during and after taking it! Upon confirming my lesson request, 주연 선생님 sends a PDF document related to the topic (and the topic always changes which is fun). During the class, I get to share my thoughts in Korean and receive thorough yet gentle corrections to make sure my Korean is not only correct, but also natural. After the class, I get to properly review what I learned in the class because 주연 선생님 sends detailed feedback! Also, talking about various topics expands my vocabulary. It’s a class I will certainly take again and again.

It was another awesome lesson with 주연 선생님! I'm grateful that 주연 선생님 responds well to anything I talk about. I recently watched a tsunami-related documentary so the conversation we had today was darker than usual, but 주연 선생님 remained kind and encouraging during the whole class, even as I struggled to string words together to describe the scenes in the documentary. 주연 선생님 also speaks English well so when I don't know how to say something, I can say the word in English and 주연 선생님 will then suggest the corresponding Korean word. I'm already looking forward to the next class!

Another great lesson with 주연 선생님! I see her every week but it's always fun to talk to her. We talk about various things every single time and I get to expand my vocabulary this way. With 주연 선생님's patience and encouragement, it's getting easier to form longer sentences.
