Thank you for today’s lesson. It is very helpful that Charles suggested three articles in advance and I could choose the most interesting one. During the lesson, I could learn many new expressions. Especially face related expressions, see eye to eye, face to face, nose to nose etc. were fascinating. Unfortunately we couldn’t finish whole article, but he offered me answer the rest of questions on message. Thanks again.

I had a pleasant conversatin with Charles. He has a variety of conversation pieces. I feel he always develops a strong interest in anything about Japan. He must be active in information gathering on a regular basis so that he's able to get a conversation going and to give a student more than "Is that so?" Today he asked me about that gruesome arson attack in Kyoto. I'm sure he'd already known more than I told him by reading the NYT article. But he listened out for my outlining the crime that was bumbleheaded. We also talked about some other issues. I'm deeply grateful that he was very patient, sympathetic as always. At the same time, he's generous to teach me more natural expressions and some new phrases that I always crave for. I believe he rolls out the welcome mat for anyone. I highly recommend his lessons.
時間が出来て急なリクエストをしたにも関らず快く受けて頂きました。近況を伝えた後に先生の方から昨日の京都アニメーションが放火された話を振ってくださいました。常に日本に関心を持って情報収集をしてくださっていると感じます。事前に内容は伝えずイディオムの質問を用意していたのですが、すぐに明快な回答を頂きました。そしてじっくり急かすことなく話を聞いてくださいました。快活な笑い声は変わらずでした。

I took his lessons a couple of times. I always enjoyed talking with him. He is thoughtful and kind so that I can talk with him in a comfortable atmosphere. I would like to take his lesson continuously.

Thanks to Charles, I was able to get what he said as the TED talk presentation. Due to my poor vocabulary, sometimes we stop discussing the theme but Prof. Charles told kindly me what they mean at each point. I got solid learning with him. I will book the next lesson every Saturday.

Although sometimes Skype connection was not the best, I could enjoy this lesson. Charles send PDF file of news article in advance that was about current news answering my request. It was hard to explain what I couldn’t understand in English, but thanks to Charles patience, somehow we could solve my all questions. Thank you!

私はTEDトークを聞くレッスンシリーズをチャールズ先生と始めました．今回は，チャールズ先生お勧めビデオを観て，議論しました．実際私は知っているビデオでしたが，今回はより理解ができました．このスピーチしている方は，ニューヨーカーだけに話すスピードがはやかったです．チャールズ先生は丁寧にセンテンスごとに教えてくれたので理解できました．
I started to have a series of the TED Talk lesson with Carles. This time, we watched and discussed a video Charles recommended but I knew. This speech was fast because the speaker is a native Yankees. Charles told me this contents at each sentence. I understand it more before I have heard. -

This time we were talking about my situation in Japan after leaving in the US. For only fifty minutes, but we enjoyed discussing so many topics; the recent tragedy, visiting the US President, and my health. Professor Charles is always gently teaching me English without interruption our conversation. I had a good lesson with him. Next time I will take a series of the lesson he provided. Thanks, Charles! I'm looking forward to seeing the next lesson.

Thank you for an enjoyable lesson! This time Charles suggested me the article that related with my job. It was not so long, and looked easy. But in some points, I needed help by Charles in oder to fully understand. I thought that I could improve reading skill by my self, however it was better to have support by tutor.

This was my first time lesson with Charles. Charles recommended 2 articles from New York Times in advance and both were good length for me. Those articles were columns rather than news, maybe it was better for the first lesson. During the lesson, Charles corrected my mistake and suggested new words using chat function that was very helpful. If I can tell small problem, lighting around him was too dark. Sometimes, I barely saw his face. But he was very cheerful and kind tutor.

In our last lesson, I shared a story from a true crime podcast that I'm hooked on. Charles seemed to be interested in what I had to say and listened to the entire story for this lesson!! I'm in awe of his kindness and generosity. It was also very interesting to hear his perspectives on the story.
前回のレッスンで、最近ハマっているtrue crimeのポドキャストについて、あらすじを話したところ、興味を持ってくれて、このレッスンのために全部のエピソードを聞いていてくれました！！本当に生徒思いで、寛大な先生です。そのストーリーに対する先生の鋭くユニークな視点も面白かったです。 -

In addition to a topic I brought to this lesson, he also gave me feedback on my writing when I wrote in signing up as well as introduced me "International Women's Day". He is always well prepared and very professional. On top of that, he sent me a GREAT feedback after our lesson. I love his feedback because he adds a personal touch on it. Again, I'm looking forward to our next lesson together!

いつも最初は近況を聞いてくれますが、予想していない質問が来て、言葉に詰まりました。どんな質問でも、ある程度答えられるように、反射神経と語彙を増やさなければと痛感しました。また、随時、トピックに則した言い回しなどを教えてくれるので、次の機会に生かせそうです。
本題のトピックでは熱心に興味を持って聞いてくれ、時間を大幅に延長してくれました!チャールス先生のレッスンはいつも受けて良かったなあと実感させられます^^
We started off with a small talk. I struggled quite a bit because some of his questions were unexpected. It made me realize that I should practice "quick responses" and increase vocabulary. He taught me some useful expressions regarding the topic, so hopefully I can use them the next chance I get.
He seemed to be very interested in the main topic I chose and listened attentively to what I had to say. Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to our next lesson together. -

He read the company's web site whose job interview I take and gave me practical advice. He also correct my sentence and teach me how to answer . I would like to take his lesson again .
