Another excellent lesson. We went through a fairly complicated reading, and she gave me some good tips for listening practice. If you really want to learn, Makisan is the teacher for you!

I took several lessons with Makisan leading up to a trip to Japan. Even though I'm an Upper-Beginner (about JLPT N4 level), I have had very little direct speaking practice. Maki seemed to figure out my level perfectly within a few minutes and I had no problem communicating with her 99% in Japanese from that point on. Of course I made a lot of mistakes along the way, but she was quick to gently correct them as we kept the conversation going. For the occasional words I got stuck on, she also has an excellent knowledge of English, so she easily helped me with any gaps in my vocab. We had a lot of fun talking about all sorts of subjects, and now I feel much more prepared for speaking while I'm in Japan. I would highly recommend her for any level, but she seemed especially helpful for people newer to speaking practice. I plan to continue taking lessons with her when I return from my trip!

I had a wonderful lesson with Makisan! She quickly helped me set up a study plan and gave me a lot of useful tools suited for my skill level. I feel far more motivated than I was studying alone. I will definitely keep working with her!
