Thank you for another fun lesson. I didn't stick to the lesson plan (again), but Maki-sensei went along with it and introduced a few new words. Today was extra special, we talked about motivation and also perception on gauging learning languages/improving on Japanese. Thank you for the support and also for helping me move towards my goal of speaking better Japanese. Looking forward to next week!

Very productive lesson. Today, by my request, was to be a serious lesson on some grammar basics. However, when I became distracted with free talk Maki-san gently brought me back to the lesson/task at hand. Maki-sensei was also able to answer some questions about grammatical nuances that has been bothering me for years! Thank you so much! Looking forward to next week!

Had another great lesson with Maki-sensei. Taking lessons with Maki-sensei really motivates me to study Japanese more seriously. Maki-sensei always has these really interesting things to say about different topics and I want to be able to talk more with Maki-sensei. So, this is a great motivator. No boring conversations. Always fun! Thank you again for your time and I'm looking forward to another fun lesson!

Thank you for another great lesson today. I had a lot of fun talking about different things and each topic moved seamlessly. Maki-sensei introduced some new grammar points into the conversation without breaking the flow of the conversation. Can't wait for the next lesson!

Another great lesson with Maki-sensei. Although, I have limited vocabulary and grammar, Maki-sensei will engage me in normal, everyday conversations. Maki-sensei will strike up topics/discussions that are truly of interest and not stick to "simple" topics usually used for beginners. Yet, Maki-sensei introduces new grammar points and vocabulary seamlessly into the conversation. Thank you for another great lesson!

Makisan is a really good teacher. She's from Kyoto so she knows both proper Japanese and 標準語! I've learned so much from her, and its only been two lessons! So much fun studying with her

Thank you for the follow-up to my interview! Great lesson with Maki-sensei! We went over what happened during my interview and talked about some current events. Maki-sensei introduced some terms and expressions relevant to the current events we were talking about. It was great fun and I can't wait for our next lesson!

This was my last prep the day before my interview. Maki-sensei was stricter than usual and I appreciated that because I needed to focus and really push myself to prepare. After each lesson, prior to my interview, Maki-sensei would send notes and comments as well as sample answers I could fall back on during the interview, if I got stuck. Most importantly, Maki-sensei helped to calm my nerves and gave me a great pep talk. Thank you for another great lesson!

Great lesson. Maki-sensei assigned some interview questions to prepare ahead of this lesson and then we ran through a few practice runs. We also had a talk about general conversation topics and questions that are appropriate for a Japanese interview. Thank you!

Today was day two of my interview prep with Maki-sensei. I had a lot of nerves during this lesson and was not able to calm down or concentrate because I was worried about my lack of Japanese abilities. Maki-sensei talked me through it and gave me some examples of why I shouldn't be overthinking of nervous. Maki-sensei also went over some interview questions with me and helped correct some of my sentences and gave me some examples to work on. Thank you for another great lesson!

I purchased this pack of lessons with the request that Maki-sensei help prepare me for a Japanese interview. Today was the first lesson and we went over the typical questions and format of the interviews as well as Japanese interview manners. Maki-sensei was great with explaining what are typical Japanese interview questions and what they mean in non-keigo Japanese. She also assigned me some homework to practice a few expressions and answering questions during the next lesson. Another terrific lesson!

Great lesson with Maki-sensei. One of the best things about lessons with Maki-sensei is that she is able to keep the conversation going with different topics and questions. There are never any awkward pauses and the conversation is very natural and never forced. Also, Maki-sensei introduces new words and works them in smoothly. Thank you!

Another great lesson! Today was one of those days when I couldn't use Japanese - the language part of my brain failed me. But, Maki-sensei was patient and kept the conversation up and gave me opportunities to correct myself. Free-talk lessons are great to practice Japanese in a natural setting. Our conversations are always fun and cover a variety of topics.

Another great lesson with Maki-sensei. She always introduces some new vocabulary into our chats, even if it's a free talk lesson. It's always fun and I always learn something new. Definitely will try other types of lesson packages in the future!
