Romi sensei is always enthusiastic about helping students improve their English skills. The materials that she choose are always wonderful for practicing, and the lesson itself is full of practicing and good amount of new information. I think too much information is not good since even though I can't take in all of them, I tend to try to do it and end up not taking in anything. I always enjoy Romi sensei's lesson.

Her lesson is not only enjoyable and also very practical one.
The other day I had a guest from Thailand and she studied in the USA for 8 years to have PhD.
I was flattered that she said my pronunciation is very good!
Thank you, Romi san!
I would like to take her new review lesson as well next year. -

"Words in the News - Facebook allows gender choices"の後半部分について学びました。文章的には前半より少なかったのですが知らない単語が多かったのか難易度的には後半の方が難しかったです。SとCの発音が時々分からなくなるのですが、その間違いを的確に指摘するとはRomi先生耳が良いんだなぁと思います。

今回のレッスンの教材はBBC Learning English でしたが、トピックが"Words in the News - Facebook allows gender choices"(until "he, she or they")がなので知らない語彙が多く少し難しかったです。という事で区切りの良い所まで学習し、残りは次回に。。。この様な話題の場合はNHKの攻略英語リスニングの様に事前にバックグラウンドの情報を学習出来た方が良いかも?と感じました。

Romi sensei's lesson is really good for training of mouth to speak Englihs. And while I am practicing reading and shadowing after the lesson, the new vocbulary penetrate my mind little by litte. I feel this lesson is powerful.

Today we reviewed the last 3 lessons. Romi sensei asked me something related to those lessons' materials. While I answered those questions, she corrected my mistakes; which was good for me and I thought this would be good sometimes. Other than that, I asked how I could say in some real situations which happened to me actually. She answered them clearly and they were so helpful. Thank you always, Romi sensei.

Today we talked to each other in a relaxed way. She seemed to think we had to go through the "Ondoku lesson," but since we didn't have enough time left for the Ondoku lesson after we had some fun conversations, I suggested that we can just talk once in a while. I enjoyed talking with her. In that conversations, she gave me a suggestion about the way of learning English in order to meet my needs. And she extended the lesson time again! Romi sensei is very enthusiastic about teaching English. Thank you always.

YouTubeの「 Top 7 Common American Hand Gestures That Can Get You In Trouble 」を教材として学びました。音だけの説明を聞いて、どの様なジェスチャーなのかを考えるというのは、ちょっとしたゲーム感覚で楽しかったです。
ちょっとレアなジェスチャーについては知らない事もあり、英語での説明だけで想像するのはちょっと難しかったです。hunky doriが横浜の本町通りから来ているとは。。。最初に聞いた時は元は日本語だと全く想像も出来ませんでした。
今回も楽しいレッスンをありがとうございました。 -

Romi sensei chose TED speech as a material today. It was really challenging for me but very interesting. I think it was very useful in several ways. I am sure she thought about my daily life when she chose this speech. She is so thoughtful and enthusiastic always. And again... she extended the lesson time to wrap it up. Thank you always, Romi sensei.

Romi sensei always finds good material for me. Today's one was really challenging for me to listen to. And there were several new words for me. So this material is very helpful to me. And thank you always, Romi sensei for extending the lesson time to finish it. I talked a little too long at the beginning of this lesson, I think. I will be careful about it next time. I look forward to the next lesson, too as usual.

ESL Podcast "Raising Teenagers"を教材に学習しました。
分かっている単語から場面は推測出来ても細かい所まで理解するのはやはり難しいです。どうしたら聞き取れるようになるのかな?上達しているとは感じないし。。。
新しい単語としては assert, rebel, "set boundaries", "call for", "ease up", "lead one astray", vigilant
そういえばマット・ディロンの『レベル・反逆者(原題REBEL)』1985年オーストラリア映画ってあったなぁ。。。って思い出しました。
発音は
/ TH / thinking, that, those, these,
astray, vigilant,
/ ɚː / heard, asserting
を指摘されました。
音読は練習していますが、上達しているのかぁ。。。

It's been a long time since the last lesson because of the summer break. That's why we talked about the summer break at first and then, she extended the lesson time for this regular lesson content other than "Free conversation." It was so nice of her.
What's more, she thought about what is the best lesson for me more than myself. She listened to what I feel difficult when I have conversations with Americans very carefully. We ended up deciding to continue the current lesson plan with "Friends" which is really fun.
I thought we would go over one episode at a time so I thought today we would do episode 2. But she prepared the other part of episode 1 than the previous lesson. And it had a lot of useful points there.
Plus, she corrected my pronunciation very clearly, which is really helpful since it is difficult to notice my own pronunciation problem. What's more, she tells me how I improve those pronunciation and I could practice them in the lesson. I will be careful when I say those words and practice them which I am sure will work.
Romi sensei is very enthusiastic and her lesson is really helpful and very fun. I like her lesson a lot.
Thank you, Romi sensei.

New words: "get the hang of ~", "under my belt", billable, "rack up", conscience, "set one apart from", bottom line,
Pronunciation: focus, serious, previous, conscience,
We did listening, repeating, reading aloud, G and V, and original discussion.

Romi sensei's lesson is very fulfilling and she is always enthusiastic. This "Ondoku lesson" is very good for practicing moving mouth to speak English and also for getting new vocabulary. The materials she made are also always wonderful.
