I have taken lessons with Luna-sensei for close to one year. My approach is to learn about Japanese language, culture and society through reading professioal book on CEO coaching. It has been a interesting learning jouney that I truly appreciate and enjoy.

I have taken close to thirty lessons with Luna-sensei. Part of our class is reading a "CEO Coaching" by Kazuyoshi Hisano. CEO coaching was my professional practice before retirement. I am very interested in learning how American style of CEO coaching differs from Japanese style. In addition to studying Japanese language, I get to know Japanese business practices, culture and society. Luna-sensei is not only a Japanese language teacher helping me read a business book but also a coach and partner that we could freely share our perspectives on important and timely issues without reservation. I enjoy the fun of attending her class because the reading integrates important issues to propel deeper discussion about personal life issues. It was an interesting learning journey that I feel is interesting and empowering.

Reading a Japanese professional book requires a reading coach who understands the business and terminologies used in the book. Luna-sensei serves that coaching role very well. In addition to learning Japanese language, I have opportunity to take a glimpse about executive coaching business models and practices in Japan. Some of the theories and practices could be applied to American executive coaching as well. I have found her lesson very interesting and informative. Therefore, I look forward to enjoying me learning experiences with her once every week for a long time!

It was a very interesting reading lesson with Luna-sensei. The author explained important elements about "cause," the most important motivating and deciding factor whether one would succeed or not. I applied some principles stipulated in his analysis to evaluate my past success and failure. Now I could see clearly why such events would happen. In addition to learning Japanese professional jargon in coaching, I got to know more about myself and how to better help others. It was a really valuable lesson that benefited me tremendously. If you'd like to read a Japanese book on consulting or coaching. Luna-sensei would defintely be your best reading teacher and partner.

I has been a wonderful jouney for me reading a professional coaching book with Luna-sensei. It makes me realize how cultural differences can affect authentic dialogues and timely objectives. An enjoyable reading experience requires a partner of similar interests with diverse perspectives. I have been studying with Luna-sensei for a few months mainly on reading a professional coaching book. in addition to practice my reading, listening and speaking ability, I really enjoy discussing contents of the book with her. Since Luna-sensei is in the consulting and counselling business, It has been a very significant experience for me to compare and exchange perspectives with her. Most of the teachers can teach Japanese; however, only few of them have professional experiences and knowledge in a field that really interests me. I'd highly recommend to take her lessons if your interests go beyond learning the Japanese language. Particularly, if you'd like to learn more about how to navigate and assimilate into Japanese business culture. She'd be a tremendous help.

It has been a very interesting experience for me reading a professional book on coaching with Luna-sensei. I am familiar with professional terminology and process in English because of my previous coaching experience in the USA. However, reading a Japanese executive coaching book truly expands my understanding of different culture and practices. It is valuable to have a Japanese teacher who has consulting experiences and can share her perspectives on various subjects discussed in the book. I feel significant and grateful to have a knowledgeable teacher who can lead and guide my reading of a Japanese professional book.

If I remember correctly, this was my 18th lesson with Luna-sensei. She has been guiding me to read a book about CEO Coaching. In addition to reading and discussing about content of the book, we often started by exchanging perspectives on current issues of mutual interests. I achieved two objectives by taking her lessons. First, I have ample opportunities to practice speaking spontaneously by thinking in Japanese. Second, I become familiar with some Japanese professional practices and terminologies. I truly believe that my learning experience with her has been very unique and meaningful. If you would like to get to know Japanese culture, tradition and society better by reading a Japanese book, Luna-sensei will coach you through the significant process and help you achieve your goals.

I has always been an interesting and valuable learning experience for me to take Luna-sensei's lesson. In addition to reading and discussing about the professional coaching book, we begin with exchanging weekly significant events in our personal lives and interesting news. Learning a language is not a simple and easy journey. It takes a lot of immersion and involvement in acquired language to get better particularly for someone who learns Japanese purely because of personal hobby without the motivations of business or formal studying needs. I believe in practice makes perfect. I truly enjoy my learning experience and am sure my understanding of Japanese culture and society has improved over past four months while taking lessons with Luna-sensei. Luna-sensei was passionate about teaching. She articulated about the main points of the subjects very well. I enjoyed listening to her perspectives about certain arguements. Since she spoke at relatively fast pace, I had to listen attentively. I think it was a good way to practice my Japanese listening comprehension.

Luna-sensei, our reading covers the conflict between first and second generation owners of business. Unfortunately, most of the conflicts are not collaboratively resolved. It often ends up in competing win-loss result. Fathers win, sons leave the business. Sons win, fathesr retires without passing the wisdon of management to the sons. Sons are often with high IQ but comparatively lower EQ with strong will to push through his transformation without consulting and collaboration with senior management team. I often wonder how a CEO coach can properly and effectively engage both parties to create a win-win strategy. I hope the later part of the book might provide some insights or suggestions. Thank you for coaching me to read through this portion. I look forward to having more stimulations and illuminations to continue reading this book with you.

Reading Japanese books in my unfamiliar area on social revolution caused by new technologies could be challenging for me. However, we can grow and transform only by stepping into uncomfotable zone. I had read a professional book on CEO coaching with assistance from Luna-sensei. I am sure I will be able to complete my reading of this new book. I will also have a wonderful learning experiences because of I have an excellent reading coach, Luna-sensei. If reading is one of your hobbies and you'd like to know more about Japanese social and cultural changes, I'd highly recommend that you take Luna-sensei's reading class. It will be an extended learning experience full of fun and illuminations that you will enjoy and treasure for a long time.
