One of the major challenges in learning Japanese is that formal teaching in class room is very different from casual conversation between colleagues of similar levels. Through reading this interesting novel, I got to realize the nuance of Japanese language. It was fun and challenging to read Japanese novel written mainly using casual and informal expressions often unheard of in formal classroom. I enjoyed my reading journey with Kyoko-sensei for it took me to a different learning world.

Reading Japanese novel has always been an interesting challenge for me becuase written and spoken Japanese are quite different. Colleagues of same level in corporation always communicate by using common form of speech which is relatively difficult for foreigners to understand and grasp the nuance. I am grateful that Kyoko-sensei coaches me to read through this interesting novel and help me understand its contents. I really enjoy my reading venture because it provides me with unique opportunity to understand Japanese corporate culture and relationship among colleagues.

One of the challegnes to learn Japanese is that the written and spoken Japanese are quite different. Particularly, conversations conducted between colleagues of similar levels are not easily understandable for foreigners without actucal living experience in Japan. Kyoko-sensei coaches me to read an awarded Japanese novel about Japanese working place. It was an interesting and challening journey that I truly enjoy. I am certain that through this venture, I'll know more about Japanese business, social and cultural aspects as well.

I was nervous about taking the lesson but the teacher spoke slowly and calmly so it was easy for me to understand her Japanese. Her notes were also really detailed and great for practicing to correct my mistakes. I want to take more lessons with her!

This was my 2nd lesson with Kyoko-sensei and this time we focused on Japanese particles. We had a few exercises where we were able to learn and practice some of the Japanese particles using example sentences and images. After the lesson once again I got all the materials from the lesson and further study material. I am really satisfied with the lesson and I think Kyoko-sensei is a very gentle and kind teacher that will teach you Japanese in a comfortable learning environment. I wish more teachers were like her and were able to offer the same level of service. Looking forward to next time where will continue diving deeper into Japanese particles.

Taking lessons from Kyoko-sensei has been interesting and significant. Since we had dialogues on timely current affairs without preparation, It was excellent opportunity for me to practice speaking Japanese intuitively and spontaneously. I believe in practice makes perfect; therefore, I truly enjoy my learning opportunities with Kyoko-sensei, particularly when I review her detailed feedback with proper Japanese expressions unfamiliar to me before.

--/// The Lesson ///--
The lesson was booked in advanced. Before the lesson the teacher sent me a message and few .pdf documents explaining the ~te form of verbs. The teacher sent me a message ahead of time to let me know the lesson will start. We introduced ourselves and began learning straight away. I am a beginner when it comes to Japanese and I know almost nothing except a few words, numbers and sentences. Today's lesson was about the ~masu and ~te form of verbs and in what cases we can use them. She shared her screen and used a slide type presentation for explaining and writing everything down. I asked many questions and the teacher answered every question I had. I learned many things and I had fun talking with Kyoko-sensei. She could also explain things in English if something was more difficult. The quality of the audio and video was good and there was no issues with the connection.
--/// After the Lesson ///--
After the lesson was over I got feedback a few minutes later here on Cafetalk. All of the things we discussed during the lesson were written down for me and also I received the file in a .pdf format after the lesson.

Kyoko-sensei is a very kind and enthusiastic teacher. She's got multiple years of experience in teaching Japanese and English she is a professional in her career. She is patient and will allow you to ask any questions and speak and practice your Japanese in a natural and fun way. Not many people speak 2 languages, let alone being able to teach both of them. I respect her for her language skills and teaching skills and I wish her the best of luck here on Cafetalk and in her teaching career and I hope she will become more popular, because she really deserves it! Thank you so much for today and I am looking forward to next time! おつかれさま! -
