After regularly taking 초이 선생님's other class, I wanted to try this class too! :) I requested that we read a 단편소설 and 초이 선생님 kindly agreed to use a story by an author I'm currently reading as the class's material. It was fun because I felt like I could really get into the story with 초이 선생님's explanation about nuances. Moreover, 초이 선생님 explained which words were not used often in daily conversations, which is good for me to know so I don't try to use those words and sound awkward ^^ I will certainly take another class.

Another great lesson with 초이 선생님. We reviewed today's grammatical structure by creating my own example sentences. Even though it takes me a while to think of a good sentence, it's always a good practice to do so because it ensures I fully understand what I'm learning. I find that I learn best by creating my own example sentences, so this study method is very effective for me!

Great class as always! I still confuse 에 and 에서 even though I use these two a lot in conversation classes. I'm glad that 에 and 에서 keep coming up even while we review other grammar concepts, so I can continue using 에 and 에서 and receive corrections when I use them wrong. 초이 선생님 explains things clearly so I know exactly what went wrong. Even though it's a camera-off lesson, the lesson content is detailed, allowing me to learn thoroughly each time.

A great lesson with 초이 선생님 as always. We covered a substantial amount in 30 minutes. Through 초이 선생님's exercises, I got to practice the grammar concept we covered. Because I created many sentences, I was able to use a bunch of adjectives and verbs as well. I look forward to the next class!

It was a great class with 초이 선생님. I caught the flu so I wasn't able to talk much, but 초이 선생님 was patient and understanding. Her exercises allowed me to solidify my understanding of the grammar structure we were reviewing, and she made sure her explanation was easy to understand. I look forward to the next class :)

Another amazing lesson with 초이 선생님! We're doing a review of beginner grammar patterns, so they're grammar patterns I learned from self-studying and have used a ton whenever I take conversational classes, but, interestingly, each time I'm able to learn something new about the grammar pattern through 초이 선생님's exercises. I really enjoy taking this class because I get to review my understanding of grammar patterns I use a lot as well as correct any misunderstandings I have, without having to study the grammar patterns again from scratch with a teacher (which can take a lot of time). I look forward to many more classes :)

A very informative class as always! I always learn a lot with 초이 선생님. In just 30 minutes, we cover a substantial amount at a good pace. The content is easily digestible and her exercises allow me to thoroughly review my understanding of what I had previously self-studied. Moreover, her post-class feedback is incredibly thorough with even more examples. I look forward to many more classes!

Today we covered 으로. Since it's used very often, I'm thankful that I got to review my understanding of it using 초이 선생님's exercises. Also, 초이 선생님 taught me some rules about 외래어. As an English speaker, I sometimes wonder why certain words are written in such a way in 한글. With 초이 선생님's detailed explanation, I was able to finally understand why :) Looking forward to the next class!

Great class with 초이 선생님 as always. I've mostly self-studied Korean grammar so I don't usually get feedback about my understanding of grammar, but through this class, I get to properly review what I self-studied and receive corrections from 초이 선생님 if I misunderstood a specific grammar structure. The post-class feedback that she sends is always detailed with plenty of example sentences, allowing me to thoroughly review and deepen my understanding through the additional sentences she provides.

Great lesson with 초이 선생님 as always. I not only learned grammar but also natural expressions I could use on a daily basis. 초이 선생님 taught me patiently and kindly. She gently corrected my mistakes and explained the correct answer clearly. It's always a satisfying class with 초이 선생님 :)

Today we covered 에 and 에서 again. The two still confused me but 초이 선생님 clearly explained the differences each time I made a mistake, so I was able to understand why the other particle was correct and not the one I thought was correct. I'm certain I will only get more and more confident about using the two particles. I look forward to future classes!

Another great class with 초이 선생님! I confuse 에 vs 에서 a lot, but with 초이 선생님's exercises, I'm finally(!!) understanding them. Also, I'm thankful that 초이 선생님 patiently explains things. Even if she had just explained it to me 2 minutes prior and I still got it wrong, she kindly explained the concept again. I look forward to practising 에 and 에서 more with 초이 선생님!

I learned a lot in today's class as well! 초이 선생님 always covers a great amount of information in 30 minutes at a good pace (I don't feel rushed). Today we talked about 에. In English, words like 'walk' and 'travel' imply direction (as in 'travel to Japan' or 'walk to the grocery store)', so I had thought all along that it was okay to say things like '한국에 여행하다', but today I found out it wasn't (unless I say 여행을 가다). Throughout the day I try to speak Korean in my head as often as possible to practice, and because I want to travel to a lot of places, I say travel-related sentences in my head often, but it turns out I've been saying it wrong all along lol. Getting clarification on this today was fantastic. I look forward to the next class!

It was a great first lesson of 2024! I enjoy learning grammar with 초이 선생님 since I get to apply what I learned during self-study using 초이 선생님's exercises. I also got to learn vocabulary, and I appreciate that I receive immediate, gentle corrections on my mistakes. I don't want my mistakes to become a bad habit so it's great to get corrected right away. Moreover, 초이 선생님 shared tidbits about South Korean culture today, which I love learning about, so today's class was extra interesting! I look forward to our next class :)

It was a very satisfying class! I still struggle with particles so I'm happy that I can study them thoroughly with 초이 선생님. Another thing that I appreciate is that 초이 선생님 takes my Korean skills into account, so she conducts the lesson in such a way that it's still very thorough and detailed, but we're not going over everything again from scratch. She also checks with me if I know something before proceeding with teaching me something. This way the class is not wasted talking about something I know, and we're able to cover a lot of material within 30 minutes. It's always a fulfilling lesson with 초이 선생님 :)

It was a great class! We covered a lot of ground in 30 minutes. Today we studied 은/는 and 이/가. Since I've been self-studying grammar, it's great that 초이 선생님 thoroughly covers the basics to make sure I have a solid grammar foundation, especially now that I've decided to take TOPIK in April. Also, 초이 선생님 shared some tips about 띄어쓰기 which will be very helpful for the writing section of the test. I look forward to taking more classes!

My second class with 초이 선생님 was wonderful! Last time I took her 사진 묘사 class and for today I decided to take her 문장으로 말하기 class. As someone who never learned Korean with a textbook but managed to be able to understand Korean at a lower intermediate level through lots of exposure to Korean dramas, Webtoons and songs, 초이 선생님 suggested making today's class a "bridge class" between a beginner and intermediate class. I'm happy she suggested it because today's class was very helpful in solidifying my understanding of beginner-level grammar because I got to create many sentences with beginner grammar in response to 초이 선생님's prompt (for example, one of her prompts was 내가 자주 하는 것 and I would answer with something like 나는 아침에 커피를 자주 마셔요). Another helpful thing is that after I created a sentence, 초이 선생님 suggested other ways to say the same thing, which made me realize that I had been sticking to certain words compared to other words (for example, I always use 항상 and never 늘 even though I know what 늘 means). I will definitely take more classes!!

It was a great lesson! I not only practiced output by describing a picture but I also learned about the differences in nuance between “~어/아 서” and “~니까” that I had never learned about before. For example, I didn’t know that using “~어/아 서” would be awkward if I were to use it with “~주세요” or “~까요”. I will certainly take more classes!

Today we went over -기가 and -기를. It was harder than I thought but I'm so glad I'm going over this material with 초이 선생님! She taught me that it can only be used with certain words, which can sound awkward if used with others. I'm really looking forward to the next class so I can practice using -기 more!
