Learning Japanese through Japanese songs was an interesting and effective way to understand nuance of Japanese language. Lyrics are often full of symbolic meaning with poetic narrations. I really enjoyed this unique approach of learning Japanese.

Laxmi-sensei gave me an excellent introduction about special food prepared specifically for Japanese New Year. It was an interesting explanation with beautiful illustrations that I really enjoyed. Now I know why there are some foods served in the New Year because of their unqiue connotations with good meaning.

Laxmi-sensei's course on Japanese cuisine is a must for anyone who'd like to travel to Japan. She used her prepared illustrations to explain different kinds of bowl and provided sufficient information about each unique characteristics. It was very interesting and useful because we did role-playing about food ordering and special requests. I'd highly recommend her course who'd travel to Japan by oneself and would like to sample different delicious Japanese cuisine.

It was a very practical lesson about ordering food in a Japanese restaurant. In addition to teaching names of various food , Laxmi-sensei also role-played with me and coached me applying my learning in real situation. Restaurants often use their own jargon in communicating with customers. The terminology and jargon taught by Laxmi-sensei makes me feel more comfortable to step into a sushi restaurant just by myself. It was a very useful and practical lesson suitable for anyone who'd like to go Japan and trying different Japanese foods.
