It's fantastic how this class always has such rich content! When I watch dramas, even though I understand the meaning of what's being said, I don't understand nuances (which go unspoken) so I often ask myself, "Why did she say it like that? Why did he react that way when she said that?". With this class, I get to fully understand nuances, why the speaker chose this word/expression instead of another similar one, and how to use that word/expression in daily conversation. Korean is such a nuanced language so taking this class helps me understand dramas more deeply. Moreover, 유니 선생님 lets me know if something has a positive or negative nuance to ensure I use the word correctly. 유니 선생님 speaks articulately and she comes up with great examples that allow me to easily understand what she's teaching me, no matter how nuanced.

My second 쓰기 lesson with 유니 선생님 was amazing as well! Her corrections and suggestions were insightful and thorough . She rearranged and modified my sentences in such a way that made the paragraph flow so much better than how I wrote it, so I was able to tangibly see a better, more coherent way to write and arrange sentences to form a cohesive paragraph. Also, I feel like I can reuse some of the advanced expressions she suggested even when talking about other things (with slight modifications to match the topic) so I look forward to using them next time! :) I’ll certainly take another class.

In order to prepare for TOPIK in April, I took this class to practice question 54. 유니 선생님 not only provided thorough corrections, but also added advance-level expressions I could use next time to expand my vocabulary. Moreover, she kindly replied to my follow-up questions with a clear answer. I will properly review and then take this class again soon!

***annel 2023 Awesome Lesson Awards (Autumn/Winter)
This is a class that deepens my understanding of drama scenes. There are nuances, proverbs, idioms, etc. that I wouldn't be able to understand if I only read the drama's English subtitles on Netflix. 유니 선생님 explains these nuances clearly with example sentences that are relevant to everyday life. She also makes sure to mention if a word or expression is not widely used anymore or if saying it will make me sound like a 꼰대 lol. It's a class that increases my vocabulary and clarifies my understanding of words I thought I fully understood but didn't. It's a great class to take for people who love watching K-dramas like me!

Today I requested to study with 멜로가 체질. I learned a bunch of expressions used often in daily life along with their nuances. 유니 선생님 explains nuances very well, which I would've never been able to learn from just looking at the English subtitles on Netflix. I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the drama and it became even more interesting to watch! Moreover, 유니 선생님 made sure I understood what she had just explained before moving on to explain the next part. I'm already looking forward to the next class!

Today I had my second drama class with 유니 선생님 and we continued with 스타트업. 유니 선생님 is excellent at providing sample sentences to illustrate the meaning of each word and expression. The sample sentences she provides also highlight other appropriate situations for the word/expression. For example, I learned about 찜한 팀 today but then she taught me that in daily life I could say 찜해 놓은 옷 or even how I could use 찜하다 in the context of dating and other examples. She also connects words with societal/cultural contexts, like I know what 열정 means but then she shares about 열정페이 which broadens my knowledge. I learned not just the meaning of words, but also how and when to use them, making this a very helpful class in my Korean learning journey. I look forward to the next class!

It was my first lesson with 유니 선생님 and I'm amazed at how much I could learn from such a short drama scene! 유니 선생님 explained the words and expressions with a variety of real-life scenarios and sample sentences so I could fully understand how to use each word and expression in my daily life. Moreover, I learned nuance I wouldn't have been able to learn by simply looking up the words in the dictionary. I asked 유니 선생님 about ~길래 as well and it wasn't in the scene but 유니 선생님 explained it to me right away in an easy-to-understand manner. I will take more classes!

First classes can always feel a little bit awkward until a few lessons in, but it was really easy to talk to Yuni and time just flew by! I'm a bit rusty because its been awhile since I've practiced the language, but she was very accommodating to my level. She was very attentive and made notes of points to keep in mind, when the lesson was over it was really nice that the compiled notes also had examples so I knew how to apply the feedback. Take a lesson with her and see what I mean! :)

If you are a Korean drama lover, this is a perfect class for you. Her textbooks are very original and include many useful words and sentences. strongly recommended!

Yuni sshi is so wonderful!! I'm loving her classes, they're the highlight of my week. She goes slow which I really like and need at this level. She's very very patient, I'm a total beginner, and I'm very thankful that she's explaining Korean to me in Japanese, but she also can switch from time to time to English and explain.

Yuni was so lovely, professional, nice, and very natural! Also, she speaks Japanese and English super well!
And even though I am a total beginner, I was able to learn and really enjoyed my lesson. I'm going to start taking more lessons with her! Thank you Yuni!

I received another thorough and detailed feedback! Since using diverse expressions matters for question 54, 유니 선생님 recommended vocabulary that I could use to expand my range of vocabulary and score higher points. She also rewrote some sentences I wrote using different vocabulary and grammar patterns, allowing me to learn other ways to convey my thoughts more effectively. Moving forward, I will be studying more vocabulary (especially 한자어) and hopefully be able to use them the next time I request this class again! :)
