The lesson with Maki-sensei was very pleasant. She's enthusiastic and easy to talk to. Actually, she let's you do the talking! This is very stimulating and it motivates me to learn more! Also, Maki-sensei explained grammar in a fun and supportive way. I can't wait to have another lesson with Maki-sensei.

This was a tough week for Japanese, but she is so encouraging and so patient that you end up feeling pretty good about it all, anyway. I look forward to the lesson each week, and each week I come away excited for a new week of Japanese study.

These lessons are great! We are doing solid work with みんなのにほんご (today was practicing making the て form of verbs) and also doing reading the manga Yotsubato, which is entertaining but full of new stuff. She is patient with my mistakes and very encouraging and very patient. The rating deserves to be more than 5 stars, but 5 is all they will let you put!

It may sound contradictory to say "casual" and "good for solid study" but it is true. The lessons are a high point of my week, and I am delighted with how much I am learning. She is very flexible and lets me bring outside material (such as manga or song lyrics) in to the lesson. The lessons are always fun and informative.

What a great lesson! She is so encouraging and ready to help. Each week I really feel that I have moved a step closer to my goal of speaking Japanese. The lessons are so much fun, I wish they were twice as long. The time simply flies by.

She is very flexible. What I wanted to do today was to deviate form the planned lesson and really try talking in Japanese as much as possible, so that's what we did. It was entertaining but I learned a lot!

What a great lesson! Some chat (you always need to practice!), working on song lyric translation, serious work on adjectives. The lesson is always over too soon for me!

I wish that I could use more than 3 of the descriptions, because 3 is not enough to describe how great the lessons are. Even when the material is hard, the lesson is still fun. Makisan corrects you gently and is enthusiastic. She is able to explain things in English (and Japanese) and is great no matter what your level and no matter what your goals.

Very good. Even though it was only for a short time, Makisan clarified some confusion I had with the textbook exercises and I now feel able to complete the rest of the exercises myself.

Makisan is an excellent tutor. The lessons are fun but you learn a lot. Each week I really look forward to the lesson, and they have all been uniformly excellent.

Makisan is awesome! She is relaxed, easy to talk to. Teaches what you want to learn. Doesn't waste time with lame lesson content. Pretty kick ass teacher!
