These lessons are consistently excellent. Makisan is able to explain things clearly in either language, and she makes the lessons entertaining as well as informative. She so clearly wants you to learn, and her attitude in that regard helps motivate the student. You could not do better than have her as your tutor.

悩みがあって何でも話したらいいかなと思い、この講義を申請しました。
最初は何から話せばいいかなわからず、自己紹介からしましたが、優しく相談してくださってどんどん自分の悩みも話せるようになりました。
自分の考えや気持ちもまとめる事ができ、自分で考えもできなかった話もいつも間にか楽に話せる時間でした。

Makisan has been helping me prepare for the JLPT for the past few weeks. She provides tons of material for self-study before the lesson, prepares a lot for the lesson itself, and also provides great feedback afterward. Lessons with her are very productive and helpful, and she is good at keeping the conversation on task. Generally she explains things in simple Japanese when I don't understand something, but is able to explain in English if necessary. This lesson is a great value, and I highly recommend her lessons to students interested in serious study.

Makisan is a very experienced teacher. She can always use simple language to explain complicated grammars or concepts, so I can get it shortly. Also, she has passion for teaching, she's always willing to help me examine my Japanese writings after class. And it's always very fun to talk with her. I enjoyed my initial meeting with Makisan. It's been many years since I studied Japanese, so my Japanese is pretty rough. Makisan was patient and easy to talk to, providing feedback in Japanese and English, during our conversation. Additionally, she was kind enough to provide written feedback afterwards.

We had a pleasant conversation about a topic in the current news (based on a web article that the tutor had linked to me a couple of days before the lesson). During the lesson, Makisan helped me by suggesting/correcting words and expressions through Skype chat.

Makisan has this way of correcting you that is gentle but firm. You know that you've made and error and she fixes it, but she does it in a way that doesn't make you feel bad for having messed up.

It was a great lesson. One of the many great things about Makisan is that she makes the lessons flexible. After studying several chapters I wanted to spend a week reviewing and not learning new information, so we turned this week's lesson into conversation practice, which is always useful.
