Today's lesson with Ryu-sensei was the first I have had in some time, and it was wonderful to be back learning from him again!
Ryu-sensei had not changed at all. He was friendly, accommodating, enthusiastic, and exceptionally helpful in providing me with the Japanese I was in need of to complete my sentences.
Some of what I learnt today includes: 誘因 (catalyst), 博士課程 (doctoral course), 悟りを得る (gain enlightenment), and 取り組む (work on).
Thanks so much for a great lesson, Ryu-sensei! Next week's can't come soon enough!

I have taken Ryu先生's lesson many time, and there's a reason for this. Ryu先生 is the best for getting in the details and reasons because Japanese grammar. Not only that he can explain it in English to where you can really understand how and why it's used. Ryu先生 is honesty the best teacher I've had on here.

Had another exceedingly instructive and productive lesson with Ryu-sensei this morning.
In addition to helping me with medical vocabulary I was not familiar with, Ryu-sensei also gave me feedback on some Japanese sentences I am looking at posting on Instagram.
The 60 minutes went by all too quickly! Maybe next time I should book two lessons back-to-back!

In the first half of yesterday's lesson, Ryu-sensei helped me with vocabulary and expressions related to my university studies, including such words and phrases as ４択問題, 研究論文, 参考文献, and 根拠に基づく.
In the second half, Ryu-sensei proofread and gave advice on the よくある質問 section of a website I am developing.
It was another great lesson, with Ryu-sensei -- as always -- kindly and patiently waiting for me when I needed longer than usual to articulate my ideas in Japanese.

In today's lesson Ryu-sensei explained the difference between 思い立って (suddenly deciding to do something) and ふらっと (doing something on a whim).
We also covered the words 単調 (without much emotion), 心身の健康 (well-being), and 先行研究 (existing research). It was a very informative lesson!!
Looking forward to my next one already!

In addition to assisting me with a difficult section of a Japanese website I am developing, Ryu-sensei was also kind enough to help me with my Japanese intonation.
Although I imagine it will take many years to master all aspects of speaking Japanese naturally, I am sure it will be that much easier and that much more enjoyable with Ryu-sensei as my teacher!

In today's lesson we looked at the Q&A section of a Japanese website I am working on.
Ryu-sensei carefully and thoroughly proofread my Japanese, not only noticing multiple mistakes I had made, but also offering valuable advice on how to improve the wording in order to more accurately convey the intended message.
In addition, Ryu-sensei was kind enough to answer some questions I had related to making requests and directing university students.

Had a great lesson with Ryu-sensei. (As always!)
He introduced me to a lot of new and useful vocabulary, including such words as "階層構造" (hierarchy), "編集権限" (editing privileges), and "やきもきする".
Ryu-sensei also explained the difference (in degree) between the three similar expressions: "いらいらする", "やきもきする", and "気になる".
Definitely cannot recommend his lessons enough!

In today's lesson Ryu-sensei corrected a follow-up email I am sending to a car manufacturer in Japan regarding a brake-design issue.
As always, Ryu-sensei offered very helpful advice on how to make the email sound more natural and better reflect my position as a customer.
In addition, during the course of the lesson, Ryu-sensei introduced me to the words "重症化", "様子見", "停滞する", and "あしらう".
大変勉強になりました！

The focus of today's lesson was on how best to introduce the Merits and QA sections of a Japanese website I am making.
Ryu-sensei had very generously spent time thinking on a problematic sentence we had previously identified, and gave me a fantastic suggestion for how to improve it!
Much other advice was also given and many other questions answered, including good phrases to use when greeting associates and friends in Japanese.

In today's lesson Ryu-sensei assisted me with proofreading and correcting a website I am writing in Japanese.
Ryu-sensei explained the differences between the particles "wo" (を) and "mo" (も), and when it is more natural to use one or the other.
It was a great lesson and I look forward to taking another one with Ryu-sensei again in the very near future!

In our lesson today, Ryu-sensei assisted me with the translations of a Japanese-to-English story which I am working on with my daughter and which is aimed at building vocabulary.
It was great having Ryu-sensei's perspective on the Japanese translations of the sentences. His keen sense of what is natural versus unnatural will help make the story that much more readable for its audience.
