I was really pleased with my class with Miyuki-sensei! I thought the class would be too short to get done everything I wanted to do, but Miyuki-sensei did a lot of preparation before our class, so I feel like she makes the most out of every minute! ^_^ At the end of class, she gave detailed feedback on my writing, and also sent me really useful sites. Thank you again Miyuki-sensei :D

This was a great introduction to reading Japanese articles and the Japanese legal system in general. After requesting the lesson, Miyuki-sensei asked me what area of law I was interested in. I said basic civil law, and Miyuki-sensei sent me two articles describing two civil law cases. The articles were perfect for my level, and I really appreciated getting the chance to read them. During the lesson she had me read part of the articles, and asked me questions to check my understanding and clarify terms. When references to provisions of the Civil Code came up, she pulled them up on a website to show me. Of course, we were limited by time and were not able to go over the whole article, but afterwards Miyuki-sensei sent me some written questions, and will check my answers.
Miyuki-sensei also provided some links to Japanese law and legal dictionary resources for my continued study. Miyuki-sensei has a lot of experience teaching law and legal Japanese, and it really shows. I would recommend this lesson to people who want an intro to reading legal articles, or who want to know more about the Japanese legal system. It is helpful to have an idea of what you want to focus on, or to have questions that you want to be answered, before going into the lesson.
