MOMENTS WITH MAMA

2018-05-04

The fondest moment that I had with mom when I was a child was during our snack time or miryenda time as we call it in Filipino. At around 3 o'clock in the afternoon we bought some bread and colas from the nearest bakeshop. Sometimes we bought some bananaque (deep fried bananas coated in caramelized brown sugar) and kwek kwek (deep-frying orange batter covered hard-boiled eggs.).

I just enjoyed listening to all her chilhood memories. Some sounds crazy like falling from a quicksand and mountain climbing in a stormy weather. The most risible one was when  she and her siblings were run after by monkeys when they crossed a river. My mom said, "living in the countryside brings you more adventures than living in the city". I defintely agree with her.
