Chilly winter days are coming and What a great time to cozy up indoors and dive into a new hobby.
Here are some rewarding indoor hobbies you can consider picking up but let me start with one that brings me endless inspiration: painting and drawing.
1. Painting & Drawing
While winter landscape is pretty dull and plain to see outside the window, this is the ideal time to create your own natural beauty on canvas inside your house. As a landscape painting instructor, I’m eager about helping others to find joy in landscape painting. Right now, I’m offering a discount on my painting lessons, so it’s a great time to start if you've been curious about exploring your creative side. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring a little more color into your winter!
2. Knitting or Crochet
Knitting and crocheting are not only relaxing but also really useful hobbies. you can create scarves, hats, or cozy blankets, perfect for staying warm during the season or giving as holiday gifts. Oh what a great idea it is to gift someone your hand knitted items. Once I got a pair of knitted coaster from an old lady in my neighborhood when I was living in western Tokyo. It felt so special.
3. Cooking or Baking
People say there’s something deeply comforting about being in a warm kitchen on a cold day. I am terribly awful at baking but why don’t you guys try out new recipes, bake cookies, or experiment with comfort foods. You might even pick up some new skills and recipes for special winter gatherings!
4. Reading
I heard about本の秋 but why not 本の冬 ?? Curling up with a good book while it’s freezing outside feels great. Whether you enjoy fiction, self-improvement, or diving into art and technique books, reading can be a great way to unwind and expand your knowledge. Let’s talk about books in our next lesson if you are into reading.
5. Puzzle Games
From jigsaw puzzles to crosswords and brain teasers, puzzles are a wonderful way to engage your mind. Plus, they can be surprisingly calming, ideal for quiet winter evenings.
Enjoy winter guys !!
Much love <3
