True meaning of Halloween.

2024-10-28

Now that Halloween is near, here’s a question for all.

Do you know what the true meaning of Halloween is?

Here’s a brief description about Halloween.

Halloween had it’s origins in the festival of Samhain Among the Celts of ancient Britain and Ireland.

Halloween is a holiday that is observed on October 31 and noted for it’s pagan and religious roots andsecular traditions.

In much of Europe and most of North America, the observance of Halloween is largely a

non-religious holiday that is widely celebrated with parties, spooky costumes, jack-o-lanterns,

pumpkins, pumpkin carvings, and the giving of candy to each other.

But this holiday also marks the beginning of All Hallow-Tide, which is a three-day Christian triduum that is dedicated to remembering the dead that begins with Halloween on October 31,

and is followed by All Saints Day on November 1, and All Souls Day on November 2.

(All Hallow-Tide, Hallow-Tide, All Saints-Tide, or the Hallow-Mas Seasonis a Western Christian season thatencompasses the triduum of All Saints' Eve (Halloween), All Saints Day,

(All Hallows) and All Souls' Day,as well as the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, that of which is a holiday season that is observed on the first Sunday of November) and Remembrance Sunday, which is observed on the second Sunday in November) in some traditions.)

(Triduum' is a Latin term (meaning three days) used by the Catholic Church to denote the three days from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. The Easter Triduum begins with the evening Mass of the Lord's Supper and ends after evening prayers at sunset on Easter Day.)

Today Halloween is a widely celebrated holiday known for it’s spooky and festival atmosphere. It's a time when people of all ages come together to enjoy costume parties,

trick-or-treating, haunted houses, and various other Halloween traditions.
