The Robots are Coming! But where does this word come from?

When we look at the etymology of the word Robot, we find some profound insight.
 
According to MIT Press,
 
The word itself derives from the Czech word “robota,” or forced labor, as done by serfs. Its Slavic linguistic root, “rab,” means “slave.” The original word for robots more accurately defines androids, then, in that they were neither metallic nor mechanical.

If you are on the internet, tech news has become akin to a medicine already in your consumption. The massive flood of updates, developments, and advancements each day can be overwhelming. Even if you’re a nerd or a geek, just someone full of intrigue, it’s hard to grasp the full picture of what exactly is happening with the one thing that can potentially change all our lives.
