Are you interested in music?
If you like music, how about Japanese music?
And, do you know kimono, kabuki, sushi, etc.?
If you knew even one, would you like to know about traditional music next time?
Today, I recommend my lesson "Traditional Music Cafe".
The lesson will proceed as follows: first, I show a menu of a few pieces and explain the character of each one. You can choose a piece that fits your current mood. After that, I explain in more detail about the piece, the instrument, and the history. Finally, we listen to the piece together and discuss the music and Japanese culture.
For example, if you would like to be calm, I recommend a koto (a 13-string long-shaped instrument, a photo above) piece. Then, you listen to a piece composed in the late 17th century, and you can get some knowledge about the koto and culture of the Edo era.
