This week we're going to practise the phrase - "If I could visit anywhere in ... at autumn, I would choose ...because..."
In Britain the main question to ask about an autumn getaway is:
1) Should I visit somewhere warm to get some last minute sunshine before winter starts?
or
2) Would I prefer a more typical autumn location with beautiful scenery, log fires and traditional food?
For me, the answer is always number two!
If I could visit anywhere in the world at autumn, I would probably choose Canada because I would love to see the spectacular colours of the autumn leaves. I also have an ambition to see bears in the wild one day.
If I could visit anywhere in the UK at autumn, I would travel to Scotland because the scenery of mountains, forests and lakes is breathtaking at this time of year.
If I could visit anywhere in the South of England at autumn, I would pick the New Forest, because it is only one and a half hours from where I live. It is a lovely place for an autumn walk, with wild ponies and pigs, beautiful trees, and lots of pubs and cafes to enjoy a beer or cup of tea next to a roaring fire.
You can see a photo of the New Forest ponies above.
If you could visit anywhere at autumn, where in the world would you choose?
I hope you have fun practising this question and answer.
If you would like to discuss this or any topic then please request one of my lessons. I have a 30% autumn special coupon for all new students in October and November.
