What do I look forward to in spring?
Are we in spring now? Today was the first time in ages that I did not need to turn on the heater for my early morning study. That should save a little money! Of course, spring is the time of the year when things are perhaps more obviously beautiful in Japan. In particular the cherry blossoms are something special that almost all Japanese people adore.
However, I tend not to look so far ahead to things, even if they are wonderful. The problem with looking into the future is that we lose focus on the present, which just happens to be the only place where humans can enjoy true contentment. So, when I get up in the morning I express gratitude for all the wonderful things I have now. Then I do ten minutes yoga. That is followed by spiritual practice where I reflect on how I would like to behave during the day. Then I get down to work. The true pleasure of getting into the flow and studying everyday is enough for me.
So, I guess this is one of the most disappointing blogs I have ever written. Sorry about that. I hope you are looking forward to the next one.
Warmest regards,
Buri
