These are my recommendations from my reads from Jan- July 2022 -- during that time I have read 240 books -- how many more books will I read ?  -- time will tell ....

THE TRAVELLING CAT CHRONICLES -- Sometimes you have to leave behind everything you know to find the place you truly belong... 

But what is the purpose of this road trip? And why is everyone so interested in Nana? Nana does not know and Satoru won't say. But when Nana finally works it out, his small heart will break...


 

ROMANCE NOVELS -- I dont usually enjoy Romance -- but these two authors -- I love their way of telling a love story.  -- these were my favourite Romances in a long time. 


HAPPINESS FOR BEGINNERS -- by Katherine Center --

THINGS YOU SAVE IN A FIRE -- Katherine Center --

THE NO- SHOW by Bath O`Leary ( this book -- I never saw it coming !!-- I ended up liking it more then I expected!!  ) 

Siobhan is a quick-tempered life coach with way too much on her plate. Miranda is a tree surgeon used to being treated as just one of the guys on the job. Jane is a soft-spoken volunteer for the local charity shop with zero sense of self-worth.

These three women are strangers who have only one thing in common: They've all been stood up on the same day, the very worst day to be stood up--Valentine's Day. And, unbeknownst to them, they've all been stood up by the same man.

 MYSTERY/ PARANORMAL / CRIME Stories -- 

VERITY by Colleen Hoover --

THE BOOK OF COLD CASES -- by Simone St. James --- I absolutely loved !! this Paranormal  mystery book !!

THE STRNAGER DIARIES -- by Elly Griffiths --  Another book I just loved !! 

Clare Cassidy is no stranger to murder. A high school English teacher specializing in the Gothic writer R. M. Holland, she teaches a course on it every year. But when one of Clare’s colleagues and closest friends is found dead, with a line from R. M. Holland’s most famous story, “The Stranger,” left by her body, Clare is horrified to see her life collide with the storylines of her favourite literature. 

To make matters worse, the police suspect the killer is someone Clare knows. HIS & HERS -- by Alice Feeney -- This one keeps you on your toes -- so many twists and red herrings!!!

There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, His & Hers. Which means someone is always lying. 

When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep. 

His & Hers is a twisty, smart, psychological thriller. A gripping tale of suspense, told by expertly-drawn narrators that will keep readers guessing until the very end.

MAGICAL REALISM- Midnight at the Blackbird cafe -- This is one of my top picks from 2022 so far ! 

Heather Webber's Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe is a captivating blend of magical realism, heartwarming romance, and small-town Southern charm.

Nestled in the mountain shadows of Alabama lies the little town of Wicklow. It is here that Anna Kate has returned to bury her beloved Granny Zee, owner of the Blackbird Café.

It was supposed to be a quick trip to close the café and settle her grandmother’s estate, but despite her best intentions to avoid forming ties or even getting to know her father’s side of the family, Anna Kate finds herself inexplicably drawn to the quirky Southern town her mother ran away from so many years ago, and the mysterious blackbird pie everybody can’t stop talking about.
