My name is Eric.  I've taught ESL online for 3 years and I have taught in a brick and mortar school settings for 10 years, both English and Social Studies.

I have a TEFL certificate, an English Degree and I have 6 of my 8 novels up on Amazon.


I've taught children and adults, beginners A1 to C2.  I used to work in the corporate world, so I not only am comfortable teaching business English but I can also keep you from souncing clunky, which often happens when people try to use too much 'MBA' speak. 

If you are not sure what level you are currently at, you can easily take an online test, free at many sites that will list you as A1 to C2, beginner to accomplished speaker.

I have met many Chinese speakers at Xionhungshu.  Most have studied English but very few practice speaking.  I like to have my students speak 80% of the time.  I like to use premade curriculum and modify the lessons from there.  But I find that people are comfortable with a set curriculum that they can refer back to and that has homework built in.

When I teach adults, they always know what they expect to learn.  When I teach kids, I like to have fun and be friendly but I don't like to act like a kid myself, nor do I find that my students want me to.
