Hello! My name is Ann and I'm from California in the USA, but I've also lived in Shizuoka and Niigata in Japan. 

I lived in Shizuoka as a high school exchange student and got to experience living with several different Japanese host families. I taught English conversation in Niigata for five years, and I like to focus more on everyday conversation rather than business or test preperation. My goal as a teacher is to help students gain confidence in their ability to use English everyday! If you want to feel comfortable with listening to and speaking in English, than let's have a chat!

My classes are relaxed and casual, so don't be nervous. I want my students to feel comfortable with asking questions or making mistakes. You should enjoy your time studying English! I'm patient and encouraging with all of my students. I will build a lesson plan to fit your needs, and focus on areas that interest you personally. I can also speak some Japanese, so don't feel scared to ask about things you don't understand.

When I'm not teaching I'm drawing manga! I have a Bachlor's degree from the Japan Anime and Manga College (JAM) in Niigata, and am currently working on launching my first manga project. My other hobbies include playing the piano, and playing with my cat Noah. I'm sure if you have a class with me you will see him drop in to say hello too!
