Hi, I know Japanese is a very difficult language. But on the other hand, Japanese is quite unique, interesting language. 

Understanding Japanese helps you to understand Japanese culture, makes your trip to Japan much fun. 

Japanese has some dialects for each area, such as Tohoku area, Kansai area, etc. Though they are very interesting to study, but first of all, I reccomend to study standard Japanese. After understanding standard Japanese, it would became much easier to study any dialect.
