Hello! Bonjour! ¡Hola!
Would you like to be fluent in English?
I am a NATIVE speaker of English from CANADA and have over nine years of experience working with international students of all ages - adults AND children. My past and current students have described my sessions as “fun and easy to understand” and describe ME as "patient and kind." I am confident that YOU too will enjoy your sessions with me.
My name is Braelyn, but most of my students call me “Lyn” because it’s easier to pronounce and easier to remember. I am from the beautiful province of British Columbia, Canada where I have the pleasure of enjoying the outdoors nearly everyday.
Cafetalk allows me the opportunity to use my education and background. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia with a Major in French and a Major in Spanish and I am currently completing my TESOL certificate - Teaching English as a Second Language. I speak, read, and write in English with a native proficiency. In addition, like you, I have pursued learning a second and third language as well and I am now, what we call in English, a trilingual - someone who can communicate in three different languages.
Because of my personal experience and training in second language acquisition, I know first hand the difficulties that arise when learning a new language. In addition to relating to your language goals, I will also help you design an academic plan to achieve your desired success. With these experiences, I have become very comfortable in communicating with people from different cultures, and anticipating and addressing their specific needs. I am flexible and have the ability to adapt to change in a professional, but fluid manner. In addition, I have developed excellent computer and organizational skills, have strong research skills, and use an extensive array of professional reference materials.
I am patient, positive, organized, punctual, and have the ability to anticipate a student’s needs and questions. I have a very flexible schedule and hope to have an ongoing working FRIENDSHIP with my students. However, if you need just one or two sessions, that’s not a problem either! I have enjoyed working with many students from all areas of the world and I hope to have the PLEASURE of meeting YOU on Skype and working with you soon!
My interests include Traveling, Learning About Other Cultures, Fashion, Self-Improvement, Gastronomy, Beauty, Culture, and my new puppy “Pippa”.
