YOU CAN SAY:

I shelled out a lot of money to buy those 2 tickets!

He earns a very good salary.

He makes a bundle :)

Unfortunately, my brother is jobless.

My brother is out of work :)

OMG these cookies are so delicious I really want to eat them all!
