Easter is a religious holiday for Christians/Catholics. It celebrates the ressurection of Jesus Christ after he was crucified. To devoted Christians, days leading up to Easter are sombre. Some of them don't eat meat or refuse to do anything enjoyable. However, when Easter Sunday comes they celebrate the joyous holiday. Many have given up something for lent and Easter marks the end of their sacrifice.
There are some Easter events that happen around the holiday. There are farms that offer activities for children and organizations that host events for the locals. This year, my family went to a free local event. We had to put our name under the guest list as they only allow a limited amount of people to attend. We were lucky to be able to sign up.
The day was a little chilly so my family and I didn't stay too long. However, my kids really liked it. They offered hot drinks, like coffee and tea, juice, granola bars and donuts for everyone. Then the main organizer made a speech and the countdown for the egg hunt. 3... 2... 1... and off the kids went! There was a temporary tattoo station, egg decorating station and a raffle at the end for prizes. Overall it was a great time!
We also went to church to pray and had dinner with the family.
