This year like every year , my birthday falls on a national holiday in Japan, which 1. makes it difficult to do anything as things tend to be more crowded and 2. Everything’s more expensive or impossible to book.
So, on my birthday it self, we had a quiet day at home with the dog , we shared blueberry cheese cake and had Spaghetti with red wine.
This week , we had mini vacation and went to Izu where we went to Izu Granpal park for their nice illumination (which is dog friendly and has a dog run ) and ate great sea food and slept the first night in our camping car all bundled up because it was super cold in Izu Kogen. The early cherry blossoms are still blooming though which was nice .
The second night we went glamping (glamorous camping ) in pet friendly tent . Which was great, our dome tent was right next to the dog run which was great for Karin ( though she was nervous about the new environment). We our stay included evening BBQ and breakfast we well as private onsen bath :)
It was very easy to socially distance from others and it was a great time. One of the birthdays for the books .
Please enjoy the pictures below!
Looking forward to seeing you all again soon !
Warmly
Stephanie
A wonderful meal of fresh Izu seafood on day one of our trip.
We went to dog friendly Izu Granpal Park from their illumination!! I love illuminations so we went as part of my birthday trip.
Our glamping dome - pet friendly , with outside BBQ area ( glamping includes BBQ dinner and breakfast) out back and we were right next to the dog run which was great for our dog Karin.
This is a picture of my birthday cake -- Blueberry Cheesecake from last week on my actual birthday.
Overall this was an amazing birthday and I am looking forward to next year and month by month having mini-vacations similar to this that are able to be socially distanced and safe. During this second year of the pandemic we are just taking everything month by month to see how things go.
Stay safe everyone !
